Description: "Salome - A Tragedy in One Act" It is translated from the French of Oscar Wilde by Lord Alfred Douglas with a new introduction by Holbrook Jackson. It was decorated and hand-illuminated by Valenti Angelo for the Heritage Press. Copyright date is 1945. The book is a black cloth hardcover with gold lettering on the spine and has a blind stamp on the back and front covers. Each page is doubled folded at the top and has nice decorative boarders. There is about a 1" tear at the top of the back-end page. Shows some sun fading to the top edge of the front and back covers. Inside front cover is a paste down for an owner's name. Included is the "Sandglass" printing from the Heritage Club. Also, a newspaper page dated April 7, 1952, titled "Story of Salome" in Opera is a far cry from the Bible Version. This book is in VERY nice condition! It measures 10½" x 6½" and is 51 pages long. (BX1)
