This 2010 Samick Greg Bennett series Avalon AV20 is an open box item in near mint condition- it just has a few very mild handling marks and some very mild pick scratches and it has a little bit of fret sprout which didn't bother me at all but you may want to take a file and do a little bit of touch up- other than that it's a great guitar, nice thick piece of mahogany A FULL TWO (2) INCHES THICK!- very loud and resonant and sustains for days! NO CRACKS, BREAKS, REPAIRS AND ONLY THE VERY FAINTEST OF HANDLING MARKS AND A FEW MILD PICK SCRATCHES! 22 jumbo frets on a 24¾" scale neck guarantees easy bends all over the neck and light string action, very easy to play! One volume, one tone per pickup. Chrome plated hardware including three-way selector switch, sealed Grover style tuners and a tune-o-matic style bridge & tailpiece, side mounted metal jack plate and the humbucking pickup covers. The fingerboard is free of inlays except for the awesome pearloid wave inlay that starts at the 7th fret and goes to the 18th fret. The guitar plays fabulous with low action and very easy playability all up and down the neck- great intonation and the dual humbuckers will produce any of the classic Les Paul tones you've heard on countless albums. The thick slab mahogany body and set mahogany neck will ensure that you will always be the king of sustain no matter what venue you are playing at! I have/had many Epi Les Pauls and I would rate this Greg Bennett similar to a new Modern or a Prophecy or other nicer higher end Epi L.P. As far as fit, finish, overall playability and sound quality. Maybe just slightly better attention to detail on the G.B.- but as you know guitars vary greatly even within the same production line so opinions vary.
