Description: I have been blessed to have traveled across the Mediterranean sea on 14 occasions. Looking down (in the daytime) from 40,000 feet, the sea is as blue as this artwork portrays. With all of that travel, I have not yet set foot upon the Island of Greece. As a portion of my heritage hails from that part of the world, I hope to one day do exactly that. Those who read this listing must have some affinity or simple attraction to that very historical and beautiful part of our world. This composition of an island port is rich in color. The simplicity of the story the artist is communicating is not cluttered with more than the eyes and mind would take in. The painting (an actual artist's proof, print #71 of 100), is like an invitation to come and visit or even stay. What I know of the Greek culture is very inviting. It is a rich family orientated culture, sometimes loud, usually shared with food and good wine. Among the people strangers easily become friends... There are no disappointments here with this wonderful artwork by the artist: Dani Shkelqim. Mr. Shkelqim is a well known artist in Europe. He is both an artist and a screen painter for an Albanian film production company. His works have been sold throughout Europe and North America.
