Description: Adorable seal mug from Midcentury modern California-based Ceramic Studio - Sascha Brastoff. From the research I’ve done, it seems he was commissioned to do a series for Alaskan Tourism in the late 50s/early 60s and this is one of those pieces. Signed “Sascha B” indicating it was hand painted by an in house studio painter (not Sascha himself). No chips, no cracks but there may be minor scuffs or crazing reflective of age. I initially thought the two small spots on the handle were flea bites but they appear to be glazed over (see photos).
