Description: Bright orange clothbound covers with only the slightest amount of rubbing at the edges. Dust jacket with minimal wear: tiny chips at the top and bottom of the spine, and a darkened “shadow” on part of the lighter colored jacket rear, which seems to be from exposure to sunlight. Some smudges and minor soiling from handling, mostly seen on the rear. Unfaded spine. The price on the corner of the jacket flap has been marked over, presumably because the book was a gift. Needless to say perhaps, but the dust jackets on vintage children’s books are rarely even present, and when they have been preserved, are almost always very worn, which makes the relatively light wear on this one the more notable. Binding square and tight. Pages clean and unmarked except for 2 names and “Christmas 1944” written on the front free endpaper, and a few light smudges here and there that were probably caused by little fingertips.
