Description: Schloss Heidelberg Treasure Box Souvenir Building. This is a rare Trinket Box in very good vintage condition. I do not see any breaks, cracks, or dents, and the hinge is in good operable condition. A similar one, but not the same, is pictured in Replica Building page 231. This one was of course made in Germany and appears to be lead, circa 1920’s. The Castle is on the lid surrounded with the legend “Old Heidelberg you fine city, honor Reich, on the Neckar and on the Rheine, No other comes to you the same.” Around the sides of the box are six panels depicting local area landmarks and monuments. Inside the box is fitted with its original fabric lining in remarkable condition. The bottom has an embossed decorative filigree. The whole thing measures 4” wide x 2-3/4” deep x 4-1/2” tall.
