Description: Wonderful Schreiber bassoon, manufactured in the early 1960s when Heckel was outsourcing their intermediate bassoons to Schreiber. It wasn't played for more than 30 years until I bought it in the early 2010s, and it got me through middle and high school, as well as several orchestras. Has a gorgeous lighter color wood with very minimal damage. Selling due to my having a Fox 240 and no longer playing this Schreiber often, was the principal bassoonist at UBC and am happy to answer questions or concerns about this sale. Plays like new, hasn't been played more than 30 minutes since it was last maintained/serviced by a professional and valued. Has a bit of tarnish on the keys, but that can be removed using a polishing cloth. Two joints are string, and I can provide tatting string with purchase. No pad leaks, no bent keys, no water damage, completely functional and playable. Perfect for a beginner or intermediate player. Comes with two original Schreiber bocals. Also comes with the original case along with an Altieri carrying case, which, while not brand new, is in good shape and allows for it to be carried like a backpack and has a large outer pocket for music/tools. Can provide recordings of playing if wanted! If this is being bought for a beginner, I can give a lesson in bassoon care and a first lesson (former bassoon teacher)
