Scinde by Alcock Flow Blue Reticulated Pierced Fruit Bowl Basket Undertray AS IS

Description: Flow Blue Scinde Fruit Undertrayc1840Early, rare transfer printed English flow blue reticulated fruit bowl undertray in the Scinde pattern by Alcock. The tray has a deeply scalloped and pierced edge and the pattern features a central design with pagoda on the left and flowering lotus blossoms on both sides. The border includes several flowers, leaves and scrolls. Measures1 1/2″ high; 10 1/2" wide; 11" long Marked Scinde in blue; incised Porcelaine Opaque, J&G Alcock, English, c1839-46 Poor overall condition with a crack through the tray that runs nearly the full length of the piece and has been stabilized with glue. There is also another hairline on the back of the tray at the bottom and also what feels like an old repair to this area. Additionally, there is surface scratching consistent with age and use. In spite of the damage, this is a very rare piece with beautiful color, and a nice, high shiny glaze in a highly regarded pattern. It is certainly worthy of a professional repair or to be treasured as it was found.
