Description: This scrapbook lot contains a unique perspective on Fire Engine Company No. 4’s advocacy the ratification of the Two Platoon Amendment during the 1914 election cycle. The amendment aimed to establish a dual shift system which would allow for firemen to work in shifts rather than be on the call around the clock. This new way of working allowed for firemen to have work life balance resulting in safer working and living conditions. Lot includes cards, pamphlets, and pins which were used to promote the intiative, as well as news paper clippings, fire house financial ledgers, and a photo of the firehouse its self. Rare lot. Great find for a budding historical collector or fire fighting connoisseur. See photos for details..
