Description: SCRAPS OF PAPER by Marietta Minnigerode Andrews 1929 Civil War & WWI Letters POB#57619 TITLE: Scraps of Paper AUTHOR: Marietta Minnigerode Andrews. PUBLISHER: New York: E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc., DATE: [1929] EDITION: First Edition DESCRIPTION: xv, 381 pages : illustrations, plates, portraits ; 22 cm CONDITION NOTES: GOOD. Stains to covers. Solid page and cover attachment. Stains to some pages. BINDING: Orange cloth..Marietta Fauntleroy Minnigerode Andrews (December 11, 1869 – August 7, 1931) was an American painter and designer. Her sister Lucy Minnigerode was head of the United States Public Health Service Nursing Corps. Beginning in 1890 she served as an assistant instructor at the Corcoran School. She visited Italy in 1892, and in 1896 became a founder member of the Washington Water Color Club. She produced designs for the stained glass windows of St. Paul's Church in Steubenville, Ohio..The present book, edited and illustrated by Andrews, collects her letters and adds her comments on historical events. Her lovely watercolor portraits appear in muddy half-tones, greatly disappointing what could have been a really great edition. Some line illustrations by Andrews do appear and compliment the text quite nicely. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
