Description: Offered for immediate purchase . . . . . . is a packet containing more than a thousand (1,000+) ~ Natural Deep-Purple & Mauve Sea Urchin Spines ~ measuring from approximately a quarter of an inch (1/4") to approximately five-eighths of an inch (5/8") long, and sorted to remove any broken spines and "shell trash" -- ready for you to use in your artwork! These are broad, FLAT, tiny spines that are a deep purple (almost black) on one side, and a lighter shade of purple (or deep mauve) on the other side, with a white tip. Two sample flowers are shown in the photo, created with just two (2) layers of spines (the sample flowers are not included in the auction). One blossom is created with the dark-purple side showing, and the other blossom is created with the lighter, white-tipped side of the spines showing. This is merely an example of what can be created with just a few spines ~ you can use more layers to create even more depth and texture when creating your own flowers! What striking detail these would add as centers in seashell blossoms and especially as accents and borders in Sailor's Valentines!
