Description: For sale is this excellent Selmer 104 Professional Oboe. The 104 is Selmer’s full conservatory, professional synthetic oboe. If you are unfamiliar with this model, these are truly excellent instruments - very even, accurate scale. Dark, round sound with great core. Lovely high register. Very similar to H series Lorees, with excellent projection and pitch. In my opinion the is the best oboe that Selmer has ever produced. This instrument in particular is a vintage model with the Signet Soloist branding - slightly more dense, desirable synthetic than the more modern instruments. The oboe has been fully serviced and gone over by MAS Oboe Repair in Arizona. It has had teflon tips and synthetic bumpers added. It plays exceptionally well. This is an excellent synthetic backup or outdoor instrument for a professional. Exceptional doublers horn for someone wanting a reliable, durable pro horn that is resistant to temperature and humidity changes. This is also a great, economical option for an advanced student. This is a great alternative to purchasing a Fox 300, which currently retails for $6,670. The oboe is cosmetically excellent.
