Description: I am a retired USAF premier bandsman and played on this horn to test it out. It plays well out of the box and is suitable for a beginner/intermediate clarinetist. There are some pitch issues, as it tends to play a bit sharp. Shouldn't be a problem for a beginner. I am not an instrument repair specialist, so I'm not sure if the 7th photo shows a crack or if it's just an irregularity in the wood grain. Tenon joints are metal. Pads are all felt. Everything seals up really nicely. You might want to check crossing the break--something may need adjustment there, or it could be that I'm just used to playing on a Buffet. Thanks for looking!
