Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a Selmer USA oboe. This is a wood intermediate level instrument with silver plated key-work. The serial number is "B 71977", which is matching on both main sections. This instrument is in very good physical condition. There are no cracks, nor any past crack repairs. There is a tiny bit of chipping on the upper edge of the lip of the bell, just above the bell ring (see picture #5). It is barely noticeable though, and shouldn't present any future problems. The keys are all moving freely and rebounding properly when released. The silver plate finish is fully intact, with minimal tarnish. The pads look to be in overall very good condition. Like most oboes, this one has a combination of cork pads for the smaller keys and skin pads on the larger ones. The cork pads all look great, as do most of the skin pads. There are just a couple that show light wear. Unfortunately I am not able to test this instrument, as I do not play double reeds. I would say to plan on a trip to the repair tech for a once over, just to make sure everything is up to snuff. It might need a few pads replaced, and/or some adjustment, but it certainly doesn't need a full overhaul or anything like that. This instrument comes in an attractive leather (or maybe faux leather) covered case with blue velour interior. It definitely looks like a higher end case, as opposed to the plastic shell cases most instruments come in. The case is in overall very good condition. It has some scuffs, and a bit of wear on the exterior corners. The interior shows normal wear and tear, but it is odor free. There are no reeds or accessories included.
