In Cuba he stood out for a renewal of language, both in painting and ceramics, during the period of his prolific artistic work. He was born in Yaguajay, Las Villas province on January 5, 1897. She studied at the San Alejandro Academy and was a favorite student of the master Leopoldo Romañach, another relevant figure of our plastic arts. This work was made at the René Portocarrero Serigraphy Workshop located on Cuba Street, between Teniente Rey and Muralla. Old Havana. Belonging to the Genesis Art Galleries Company, the René Portocarrero Serigraphy Workshop has been working for more than three decades.In the 1980s it became -in its own right- a true generator of cultural projects that had a great impact on Cuban cultural life.Simultaneously to the production of works in the serigraphic technique, a program of exhibitions, events and activities related to the visual arts is developed in its spaces. Es el nombre abreviado de Amelia Peláez del Casal (Yaguajay, 5 de enero de 1897 - La Habana, 8 de abril de 1968). Artista plástica cubana reconocida a nivel nacional e internacional. En Cuba destacó por una renovación del lenguaje, tanto en la pintura como en la cerámica, durante el período de su prolífica obra artística. Nació en Yaguajay, provincia de Las Villas, el 5 de enero de 1897. Estudió en la Academia de San Alejandro y fue alumna predilecta del maestro Leopoldo Romañach, otra figura relevante de nuestra plástica. Esta obra fue realizada en el Taller de Serigrafía René Portocarrero, ubicado en la calle Cuba, entre Teniente Rey y Muralla. La Habana Vieja. Perteneciente a la empresa Génesis Galerías de Arte, el Taller de Serigrafía René Portocarrero lleva más de tres décadas de trabajo.En los años ochenta se convirtió -por derecho propio- en un verdadero generador de proyectos culturales de gran impacto en la vida cultural cubana.Simultáneamente a la producción de obras en la técnica serigráfica, se desarrolla en sus espacios un programa de exposiciones, eventos y actividades relacionadas con las artes visuales.
