Description: We are proud to offer for sale a Set of 2 Vintage Libbey "Seagram's Golden '49ers" Highball Glass. This glass is a true Rare find. From what we have found, they were from an ad campaign in 1949. It is in like new condition which includes all the writing and logos on the glass. No chips or cracks. It is 5 1/2" Tall, 3" wide at the mouth of the glass & 2 3/4" wide at the base of the glass.On the Top of the Glass is Seagram's Golden '49ers.Below around the glass is written: "Made with Seagram's Ancient Bottle Distilled Dry Gin" - "Distilled from Grain"- "90 Proof"- "Seagram-Distillers Corp. N.Y."These glasses were part of an Ad Campaign in 1949 for 2 Drinks from Seagram.'49er Rickey and '49er Collins. Both were mixed drinks made with Seagram Gin, and not just normal Gin it was the Ancient Bottle Distilled Dry Gin.On the top you will see a Yellow Sign with the words" Seagram's Golden '49ers" in it.Around the bottom is a Western scene of Cowboy's or "California Gold Rush '49ers".The maker of the Glass is Libbey.The Glasses have the older Libbey makers mark which is as follows: A Script L in a Circle. Which is in it's normal direction looking from the top of the glass down into the bottom. It is "backward looking at the bottom" of the glass. These were from the estate of a woman who worked for Seagram's in between 1942 - 1952 and they were given to her by the company. No one in the family drank alcohol, so they were stored in a cabinet in the basement until now. Never used...just like the day they were made in 1949.These are 74 years old this year.No chips or cracks. Vivid graphics. May have surface scratches.
