Set of 4 equestrian racing prints, Darcis after Vernet, c. 1790s, hand-colored

Description: ITEM: Complete set of four horse racing prints by J.-Louis Darcis (d. 1801) after paintings by Carle Vernet. Copper-plate engravings colored by hand. Framed in narrow wooden frames without matting; frames are old, but no idea if they are original. Frame size is 17" x 10-1/2". Plate size is 12-3/4" x 7-15/16". Image size is 11-1/4" x 6-1/4". (Large white streaks in photos are reflections of my overhead light, not marks on the prints.) I am not an expert on art prints. Please use the photos to assess their value to you. CONDITION: Generally good condition; no tears, foxing, or stains. Paper of the prints overall is rather dark but prints still show nicely. Frames are a bit dinged here and there (one photo shows examples of type of damage). Paper on the backs of frames is deteriorating. Please look carefully at all photos for details and feel free to message me with questions.
