Description: This listing is for a set of 4 hotel silverware teaspoons from the Mayo Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The end of the handles are a decorated with the Mayo Hotel monogram – an MH interlocked on the front of the handle and stamped “Mayo Hotel” on the backside. The spoons also are marked on the back, “Victors.Co. AI+Overlay. IS” for the Victor Silver Company. The Mayo Hotel is in downtown Tulsa and opened in 1925 by two brothers with the last name Mayo. The brothers’ 19-story building garnered buzz as the tallest building in Oklahoma at the time. The hotel’s 600 rooms featured the most modern amenities of the day, including ceiling fans and Tulsa’s first running ice water. Notable guests included President John F. Kennedy, Bob Hope, Charles Lindbergh, Babe Ruth, Lucille Ball, Charlie Chaplin and Elvis Presley as well as revered oilmen J. Paul Getty and Waite Phillips who took up residence for a time. The property now offers 102 guest rooms, 76 private residences. These spoons are a matte silver finish. Each spoon measures approximately 6” long and approximately 1 1/4” across the spoon.
