I LOVE WINTER4 beautiful booklets from 30 years ago from Nordic Needle and Rosalyn Watnemo.These would make a nice present for a friend (early Christmas shopping idea?) There are the same 7 pages of general instructions in each booklet complete with stitch diagrams.There is one large sampler as well as several smaller projects that use motifs from the large sampler in various combinations.Bands are made up of traditional Hardanger floral and geometric patterns.Finished projects are framed, used as box lids, ornaments, pins, and bell pulls. See photos. All 4 patterns have some cutwork involved so I have labeled them Intermediate. Stitches include cross stitch, box stitch (looks like 4-sided stitch to me), cable stitch, lazy daisy stitch, eyelets, and satin stitch (kloster blocks, star, tulips, Viking ships).Filling stitches include wrapped and woven bars, Dove's eyes, and twisted bars.Fibers used include various combinations of #8, and #12 pearl cotton, Rainbow Threads - Bravo!, Encore, Gold Rush, with beads, charms, and buttons as embellishments.
