Offered for sale is a Seth Thomas Westminster chime deluxe chime bar made for Seth Thomas by the Mayland Chime Company. This chime bar came out of a Chime Clock No. 98. The clock was the deluxe model with the heavy beveled glass and applied numbers on the dial. Part of the deluxe package on these clocks was the upgraded Mayland Chime bar. It has larger, 3.1 mm chime rods and was mainly used in the better clocks. These chime bars have a superior sound and the longest rod that the strike rings out on sounds like a bell and makes a beautiful tone. The other issue is that you can buy this unit for less than it costs for the price of a rod set and you don’t have to drill and tap the base for the new rods. Overall length of the unit is 11.5 inches to the end of the longest rod. I bought out the inventory of a clock shop that had closed when the owner passed away. I brought home a truckload of material that includes tools and complete American and European movements. All of the parts will be put up for sale as time permits.
