The San Francisco chapter of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union (OCAW) was a radical militant local union in the San Francisco / Bay Area. In 1969 they formed a unique labor-student alliance when striking members voted by three to one, to form a “mutual aid pact” with the striking students at San Francisco State College (SFSC). Soon afterwards, SF State students were picketing along side their union brethren outside Standard Oil offices. This alliance also would form the basis of the Bay Area Revolutionary Union (RU), a precursor of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (RCPUSA).
