Description: Sherline 4400 ER20 Lathe Mill w/ELS Threading Leadscrew CNC High Torque Stepper Powerfeed with Controller. Was a very clean low use CNC unit that has been refurbished and converted to manual control zero-adjustable handwheels with new leadscrew/parts and cross slide table/screw/nuts. Works smoothly and tightly as a new lathe - no observable backlash, play, or leadscrew wear. Only mod observed was the tailstock handwheel had the handle removed - new handle/hardware is inly a couple of dollars from Sherline, but isn't necessary for use. All moving parts are greased, bed has way oil, new motor, cnc stepper/leadscrew/engagement lever/coupling, and a custom controller enclosure with jog pendant/display, estop, fan, driver, and power supply. Controller has 9 functions and many options. It does have the ability to connect to a pc, but works well as a stand alone Jog pendant/powerfeed controller. All connections are ferruled and neat, enclosure has room for upgrades. Nema 23 High Torque 3amp Stepper Motor is a lot more robust than Sherline's stock cnc stepper motors. Setup could be upgraded to Clough42's electronic threading leadscrew with the addition of his kit, encoder, and control board. Have variable speed reversible powerfeed and positioning control and with the flick of the lever go back to straight manual control. Setup is very heavy and large to ship. Custom-made Sherline ER20 Collet Chuck Headstock with useful 1/2" inch Lathe Spindle through-hole stock capacity that can accept 13mm and 1/2" End Mills and Spindle Tooling. Can be used with stock Sherline 3/4"-16 threaded chucks using Sherline part # 1066 1/2" chuck collet adapter. Used headstock that was rebuilt using a new precision-ground extra long ER20 spindle w/over 1/2" through hole, brand new ABEC5/P5/C5 precision bearings, and brand new lock-collar and shim housed inside the 2-step pulley. Headstock has much better runout/accuracy than a factory Sherline MT1, 3C, 9/16", or ER16 Headstock! Includes new ER20 Collet Nut and full set of Inch Collets and wrench as pictured. Sold as-is, will combine shipping and ship overboxed! I can swap in a very good condition stock MT1 headstock instead of the ER20 for $100 discount.
