Description: Sherline 8860 Mill Z-axis Power Feed (5000/5400) Sherline 8860 Mill Z-axis Power Feed (5000/5400) The Sherline 8850 mill power feed can also be adapted to the Z-axis. This 8860 kit includes a new Z-axis leadscrew in addition to the other parts that come with the standard 8850 power feed kit. This stand-alone controller is programmable from its own keypad and controls the function of the stepper motor to which it is attached. In this installation, the stepper motor is mounted to the Z-axis of a Sherline 5000 or 5400 mill. A new Z-axis leadscrew, stepper motor mount, dampened coupling, preload nut, drill guide block and complete installation and use instructions are included. The linear motion controller has its own keypad and built-in computer. It comes with its own power supply, a #23 frame size stepper motor, connecting cable and complete instructions. An 8-pin mini-DIN cable can be used to connect multiple units in a daisy chain. The units can signal each other to work in sequence, allowing multiple movements to be accomplished without the use of a computer or master CNC controller. They can also be used in conjunction with existing CNC controllers. The controller is user-programmable with two separate programs of up to 40 operations (blocks) each. In each block you can control distance, direction, speed and whether the program pauses or proceeds to the next block. The linear controller can also be daisy chained with Sherlines rotary controller (P/N 8700) to achieve combinations of rotary and linear movement in sequence.
