I started reading MAD in '79, and soon after started picking up other humour magazines available locally in the UK. That had to do for many years, until someone created the internet, and I could buy other titles like this which had little or no distribution in the UK. Although MAD was always my primary interest, I managed to accumulate a reasonable collection of other US humour magazines. This did not make Mrs Veeblefetzer very happy, although it is rumoured that she managed to crack a smile when I suggested that the time had now come for me to finally after put them on ebay.
