Description: This is a Siddur Saphah Berurah - Ashkenaz version. It was printed in Shanghai, circa 1920. It was published by the National Council of the Jewish community of Siberia and the Urals, Irkutsk. Irkutsk is a city in the region of Eastern Siberia in Russia. Jews began settling there at the beginning of the 19th century; many were sent there as prisoners or exiles. By 1920, the Bolshevik Revolution reached Irkutsk, destroying its economy and compelling many of the Jews to flee the city. Siddur contains ink stamps from the main synagogue in Harbin (China).
