This is one of the many treasures we found along the way ~ ( There is a light sheen on the purse, perhaps a shellack, so the photographs look like it is scuffed, but it's just the light reflection from the sheen! ~ it's in amazing condition ~ I had read about these Nan Caro purses but this is the first time I have found one! ~*~ This one has TWO signatures ~*~ this is a hand painted , Nan Caro basket purse! It's signed " Elaine Shop" and also in the bottom corner of the back of the lid " By Caro Nan" Perhaps Elaine worked with the Caro Nan team ?? I would love to understand that history! ~ ~ The design is of streets of Dorel , Florida / Miami ~ It looks like Elaine Shop was designing handbags in the 1960's also! ~ Highly collectable, the antique of the future!! MEASUREMENTS : This wonderful handbag measures about 8 inches wide at the top by about 4.75 inches from the back of the purse to the front. It stands about 6-7 inches tall.
