Description: This is a vintage, signed Bursley-Ware ceramic pitcher by the British artist Charlotte Rhead. It was made in England, most likely in the early 1940's. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, or paint wear. It does have some overall light crazing under the glaze due to the age of the piece. The handpainted details include flowing leaves and flowers, with random swirls and raised dots for an additional touch of interest. There is a ridged pattern around the wide spout. The pitcher is marked on the bottom with "Bursley-Ware Charlotte Rhead England" in green script. There is also a small black "P", and another undecipherable small green squiggle mark. The pitcher measures approximately 6" in length, 4.5" in width, and 5.75" in height. Please see photos for more details, and examine for samples of the crazing.
