Light toning to the prelims and some leaves. Internally clean and bright. Binding sound and square. Small label with the number 19 to the inside of the front cover. Scarce. Signed by the author: "Alan Rice-Oxley, With best love of Auntie Lancaster and the author - Christmas 1914". A very nice example. Harry Collingwood was the pseudonym of William Joseph Cosens Lancaster (1843-1922) was a British engineer and novelist who wrote over 40 adventure books. He was the son of a master mariner, and most of his books have a nautical theme. This book is dedicated to his nephew Alan Rice-Oxley who later became a British pilot during World War I.
