Description: Superb Solid Silver Royal Navy 5th Submarine Flotilla Pint Tankard by James Deakin & Sons (d.1933/34) This fabulous silver pint tankard was made and hallmarked in Sheffield by the famous silversmiths “James Deakin & Sons” in the Jubilee year of 1934. It was latterly presented to Lt R.O.B Wilson RN by the Captain & officers of HMS Dolphin & 5th Submarine Squadron in September 1947. The 5th Submarine Squadron in 1947, was part of the home fleet based at Dolphin and consisted of S & T class submarines, which included HM Submarines Tally Ho, Thule, Trump, Tactician, Turpin, Truncheon & Sirdar. The pint tankard is in fine fettle and has the odd dink or mark commensurate with its age & use, it’s engraved to the front and hallmarked to the right of the thick handle.
