I buy my items at a variety of places and I'm unable to guarantee they haven't been around smoke at some point. I don't smell any odor on it and would never buy it if I did. We do have two cats who like to "share" a hair or two so if you're sensitive please be aware. Once photographed, the pattern is placed in a cellophane envelope and stored in a cool, dry place.
