Description: Slingerland Drummer Barrett Deems Vintage Down Beat Magazine Ad in Frame from 1961 in great condition. I took this ad from a vintage Down Beat magazine and framed it for my drum room. I never ended up hanging it. These are super cool! Frames are new - well-made with plexiglass. Deems was an American swing drummer from Springfield, Illinois. He worked in bands led by Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Dorsey, Red Norvo, and Muggsy Spanier. In High Society, a 1956 film, Deems performs a drum solo during a scene in the back of a bus. In addition, when Louis Armstrong and His All Stars play "Now You Has Jazz", C. K. Dexter Haven (Bing Crosby) introduces the band members, including Deems, who performs a short drum solo. These ads are 60+ years old. There might be yellowing (which is cool), wrinkles, slight tears etc.... But every one is displayable and an awesome conversation piece! I have other drummers listed Check out the pics. Buy before noon, I ship same day!
