Smilin' Jack was one of a number of strips from the first half of the 20th century which focused on aviation and airplanes. Jack was a pilot who flew into adventure wherever he went. This Sunday features Jack, Joy Beaverduck (Jack's first wife), Fat Stuff, Downwind Jaxon (and his family; the gag with Downwind was that his face was never shown in the strip; hence we don't see his face, or the faces of his family). Classic aviation themed art by a master of the format. The strip comes with the original Zack Mosely price list (for his artwork) and correspondence between the original purchaser with Jill Mosley Sandow (Zack's daughter and curator). IBI.
