Description: Special quality Tibetan style incense from Nepal - the sticks are thicker and don't have a stick inside The manner of the preparation of this incense is one of the ancient traditional arts of the monastic order of Tibet. "It is composed of 55 ingredients, of which saffron, nagi, red and white sandle wood (sandalwood) form a part." Made by Chandra Devi in Kathmandu, Nepal (most Tibetan style incense is currently made in Nepal or Bhutan). Package of about 45 sticks which are just under 6.5 inches long, that burn for up to 45 minutes each. Tibetan Incense General Information This type of Tibetan style incense is thicker than the more widely known incense, and it does not contain a stick on the inside - it's pure incense. Made by Monks, the incense is created by crushing and mixing various natural ingredients - often dozens of them - into a paste and rolling the paste into the thick sticks. It is then thoroughly dried and packaged. Because of the type of processing, it will last for many years with little degradation in quality. Tibetan incense also has less smell to it until it is burned and the fragrance is much more pure. Because of the thickness, they will not fit into most of the traditional (boat, coffin, wheel, etc.) incense holders. Some will come with a small holder; there are also Tibetan style wire mesh burners (very useful for all types of incense) and the large wheel ceramic burners.
