Fuji Brush and Holder, Original Release Date December 2022, Kakishibu Dyed Saikoho Goat Hair, Made in Japan, Limited Edition, Discontinued From SONIA G, her famous and collectible ‘Mt. Fuji’ holiday brush, with a unique Sonia G brush holder, now discontinued. This artistic brush, made in Kumano, Japan, has beautifully soft Saikoho goat hair, the tips of which have been dyed in kakishibu, which is a natural dye made from persimmon fruit. The exquisitely soft and resilient natural bristles provide excellent application of powder and bronzer, and the brush is wonderful for blending. The bristles at their longest are 50mm. The handle is made of maple wood. The special brush holder is included, and is made from two different types of wood, walnut and lighter maple. These are actually two separate pieces of wood that have been shaped and then fused together using two Japanese woodworking techniques. Yosegi is the art of joining different pieces of wood together, and Kumiki is the art of interlocking those pieces together. As the handles and holders are all natural, the ones you receive will be different in woodgrain and pattern — and the hue may be lighter or darker — than those photographed. Each is an individual work of art, and no two will be exactly alike. Brush and holder come in a special box made from paper canes displayed in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
