Does not include a rechargeable battery or AA batteries, but has the plug in AA battery adapter option. I am including the backup battery, a CR2016 button cell battery. Unit will turn on, spin a music CD, screen works, number of songs shows, plays the music - but with a condition. It will play the music CD but the music will skip if the unit is laying flat (horizontal). Music plays normally without skip if tilted up or vertical. Cannot figure out what is causing this condition. SEE THE VIDEO DEMONSTRATING THIS CONDITION. Note that the negative prong in the rechargeable battery compartment is slightly bent and probably can be straightened but I'm not about to attempt that. Both prongs have a minor amount of green on them but not enough to effect the conductive property. You could easily clean this off. The AA battery cover has one of the two prongs broken off (that holds it in place). The cover will clip in place and stay in place. But if the other prong ever breaks off, it will not be able to stay on the battery adapter. Includes the case shown. It will ship protected with foam or bubble wrap in a corrugated box which will inside the padded priority envelope.
