Description: Souvenir token from Gold Discovery State Park, in Coloma, CA. This site is developed around Sutter's Mill, famous site of the first West Coast "gold rush". Octagonal, 39.5mm, struck to simulate a Territorial Gold Slug of the 1850's. Struck by the Nevada City Mint, in the original snap case, circa the 1980's (?). Case shows some light scuffing however the piece itself is Gem with some attractive toning. This will be carefully packaged for safe shipping as these cases tend to be a bit brittle.
