Description: FOR SALE Soviet KGB Award "Honorary State Security Officer" - the highest departmental award in the state security bodies of the USSR. The last awards with this badge were made in 1991 . During the existence of the award, 7,375 people have been awarded it.On March 13, 1954 , the State Security Committee under the Council of Ministers of the USSR was formed by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In December 1957, in connection with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Cheka-KGB, a new badge "Honorary State Security Officer" was approved in order to encourage generals, officers and sergeants of the KGB under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, who perfectly perform operational tasks, show high vigilance, initiative in work and exemplary military discipline. The order to establish the badge was signed by the Chairman of the KGB General of the Army I. A. Serov. The regulation on the sign noted that it "is an award for especially distinguished employees of state security agencies." The last awards with this badge were made in 1991.
