Each game in this series simulates the art of warfare in one of the five major periods before the widespread use of gunpowder. Chariot covers the period from the rise to the fall of Egypt with coverage of the first battles involving the young Greek City - States, and the legendary beginnings of the Romans during Etruscan times. The first Scenario takes place circa 3000 B.C.; it represents an engagement between the Upper and Lower Egyptians. Shown in other Scenarios are armies of the Hittites, the Babylonians, Syrians, Assyrians, and, Cimmerians, among others. Exclusive rules include special rules for Chariots (a favored instrument of warfare during the period) and special Leader rules, which demonstrate the highly disorganized state of the armies of the time.
