Description: This rare Sports Illustrated magazine issue from April 2, 1973 features the NHL Montreal Canadiens center Henri Richard on the cover and titled "The Now and Future Champs: Montreal's Henri Richard". Joseph Henri Richard played center for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1955 to 1975. Nicknamed "Pocket Rocket" after his older brother, also a Canadiens' legend and fellow Hockey Hall of Famer, Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Henri won the Stanley Cup 11 times as a player, the most in NHL history. Richard and Bill Russell of the National Basketball Association (NBA) are tied for the record with the most championships won by an athlete in a North American sports league. In 1979, Richard was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. This vintage publication is in its original, ungraded condition and is a true piece of sports memorabilia for the NHL Hockey and Montreal Canadiens fan.
