Among his favorite subjects are Portofino, Positano, Mykonos, Santorini and flowers, which are often the protagonists of his works.Born in Peschiera del Garda in 1951, Athos Faccincani began to take an interest in painting as a child, becoming a pupil of masters such as Virgilio Guidi, Seibezzi, and Novati. While at the beginning of his career his style is expressionist in both subjects and tones, now his paintings represent the light and colors of landscapes.Among his favorite subjects there are sunny seascapes and harbors filled with boats, fields, flowers and trees. Airy and radiant views, strong in color but also extraordinarily gentle, for such are the feelings his paintings transfer to the eyes of the beholder. Faccincani joyfully celebrates the act of painting itself, demonstrating that the spiritual value of a painting can consist even in its being a "painting." His pictorial research is thus a "synthesis of color and light, and expressive interiority" where the union of purely visual impressions and subjective expressions harmonize with each other and are happily resolved. Initial are his paintings on the "Folly of Expectations," of which the "Cycle of Resistance," awarded by then President of the Italian Republic Sandro Pertini, assumed particular intensity. In 1980, after a long period of reflection, he switched from the representation of human figures to that of landscape.
