Description: We are pleased to present the twenty-fourth volume of the Bhakta Bandhav Anthology, consisting of the lectures of Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja, Bhakta Bandhav Srila Gurudeva, spoken in Bali in 1998. We have collected Gurudeva’s talks from the beginning and end of the year in Bali into one volume, to share all his lectures from 1998 Bali together in one volume. Srila Gurudeva spoke in Bali from January 25th and 28th, as well as at the end of the year in December, from the 18th to the 21st. As Srila Gurudeva’s disciples and followers, we are striving to honor and please him, with this presentation of his hari-katha. Below we are sharing some of the themes of this volume with inspiring excerpts from Srila Gurudeva’s discourses. On January 25th, Srila Gurudeva said, “You should go to any realized, liberated person who can help you and you should hear from them. You should know and realize that you are not made of this worldly matter, you are not this physical body. Whatever you see in this world is not eternal. But you are eternal. You are part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead who has created this world. You should also know that there is a relation between all the living entities and Krsna, but it has been covered now and that is why you are sleeping in darkness. I want to take you from this darkness to the light. What is that light? It is Goloka Vrndavana. I want to help you to go there. There, you will serve and be happy for eternity.” On January 26th, Srila Gurudeva said, “In sastra it has been told that if anyone has the association of a pure devotee even for a moment, he will be totally changed. He will become a bonafide Vaisnava. In all sastra it has been told, ‘Go to sadhu-sanga, go to qualified Vaisnavas.’ I think that in a thousand places Svamiji has written, ‘Go to a bonafide Vaisnava.’ He will never say, ‘Don’t go to bonafide Vaisnavas.’ In Vaisnavism, there is no caste and creed and walls and all of these things. We are only serving that mission given by Caitanya Mahaprabhu. The same mission—love and affection. To control is not love and affection. Any acaryas have nothing to control, here and there. So anyone in this line is free to think this, ‘Where can I go to have sat-sanga, bonafide Vaisnava association so that I may develop in Krsna consciousness?’ If high-class Vaisnava association is not there, we cannot develop our Krsna consciousness, never.”
