This novel lays the groundwork for the series by describing all the main characters in detail. You'll learn who they are, why they are like they are, what each one's hangups are and how he or she copes with life. In other words, what makes each one tick? You also get to learn about new technology the Alliance of Planets has developed and how it is used. Is it used for defending their space or for going into deep space to conquer new planets and for subjugating the people? Is the Alliance of Planets good or are they in league with one another only to conquer the universe? In any case the action in constant and at times very intense, but at the same time there are moments where humor takes over and even moments of passion. After all, it is life aboard a space ship, where males and females live and work in close quarters. Vol. 2 -The Epsilon Quadrant In The Epsilon Quadrant, Captain Buckton is back! He takes his prized crew and ship Pegasus into an area of space the Alliance of Planets has never before ventured. In the EQ, they encounter two "different" civilizations. One is as dangerous and deceitful as any ever encountered and the other is just the opposite, peaceful and unimposing; yet these two civilizations are at war with one another. No matter how unintentional, Pegasus and her crew become embroiled in this war. At the same time there is a rebellion on an alliance member planet where the President, Vice-President and several cabinet members are kidnapped. Pegasus is summoned home to help with the rebellion and some really strange turns of events take place. You won't be disappointed with the suspense, the twists in the storyline, or the action, which is fast and furious. The Epsilon Quadrant will keep you on the edge.... Vol. 2A -The Epsilon Quadrant In this fast-paced novel, Capt JT Buckton takes his warship Pegasus into the EQ (Epsilon Quadrant). They are to be the first from the Alliance of Planets to ever venture there. In this novel you will find they discover two distinct civilizations at war with one another and very unintentionally Capt Buckton and crew become involved and get mired in a mess. On top of that Pegasus is the prize one of the civilizations is after. Plans are made and then changed! More plans are made and they prove to be as worthless as the first ones. This whole venture seems to be nothing more than a meaningless escapade in futility. Back home duty calls! Pegasus is recalled after the Alliance's President, Vice-President and several cabinet ministers are kidnapped. They are to help put down a rebellion, but run into a "wall" of enemy warships! The action is relentless and nonstop. Vol. 4 -Mysterious & Ominous Captain JT Buckton, his crew and now famous warship Pegasus come face-to-face with a species known as the Translutens. These beings are without a doubt the most cunning, evil, treacherous and vile beings members of the Alliance of Planets has ever confronted. While in the middle of a particularly vicious space battle against several transluten warships, numerous enemy soldiers manage to board and attack Pegasus from within. With invisibility an ally, destruction and death follow their every move. The fight on board the Alliance's prize warship as well as the fight in space is furious and deadly for both sides. A battle of wits ensues and the unique warship Pegasus is the prize! Vol. 5 -Deceit, Adversity, Affliction A swift acting extremely deadly virus of pandemic proportions is sweeping across Pollux, a member planet of The Alliance of Planets, and it is killing untold numbers. At the same time Capt JT Buckton and his warship Pegasus, DSC-01, are "ordered" back to Transcia and Lutens. This time they are to lend assistance to the always treacherous Translutens who have been invaded by the Hamates, a mind-reading species bred strictly to be warriors. Things get really interesting when Fleet Admiral Jensen lends the untested Mongon race of metal "people" to assist Capt Buckton's 2nd "vacation" excursion into Transluten space. When "Murphy's Law" once again makes its presence known, things just don't turn out like expected. Intense space battles, land battles, deceit, destruction and death reign supreme in this space sci-fi thriller! Vol. 6 -Malice From Nowhere Captain JT Buckton and his warship Pegasus are involved in an exciting multi-phase adventure. They discover an Alliance of Planets cargo ship that has mysteriously been destroyed and during their search of the ship they find only 3 survivors. JT puts LtCmdr Omo Assawatu and his engineering skills to work solving the puzzle of how the ship was destroyed. However, before they've finished with this mystery, Pegasus and crew are sent to assist the Anurans, a powerful enemy empire, who unexpectedly show up on the Alliance's doorstep seeking assistance. It seems they're in a fight for survival with another empire. The enemy just happen to be the same empire that kidnapped JT, Kate and Sentalia Buce, the Ambassador to Auguston, a couple years earlier. For JT there's no love lost on these beings and he aims to settle the score. Will his emotions overwhelm him or will he be able to control them? Can the Anurans be trusted, or is this a trap and will they turn on the alliance? Vol. 7 -Shenanigans & Skullduggery In this fast-paced action novel, Capt. Buckton, his crew and warship Pegasus are sent on a daring adventure to Draakus. The Fleet Intelligence Bureau has amassed numerous reports indicating the Draakens are building a new super ship; a ship reportedly more powerful than the alliance DSC ships. That greatly troubles headquarters, so Pegasus is sent to investigate. The stakes are so high the head of the Fleet Intelligence Bureau comes to Pegasus to hold a private meeting with JT and his staff officers. RAdm Amdon informs JT in the espionage "world" casualties are not just expected, they are a reality. Of course that upsets JT, so right in front of his staff he goes toe-to-toe with the rear admiral about this mission. JT is upset because he considers this whole mission a folly; mostly because of all the previous bad reports and snafus fleet intelligence has caused. Coupled with Pegasus' attempt to confirm the intel, the headquarters staff has to deal with more shenanigans from the Polnons! Vol. 8 -Twin Forces of Evil In this exciting adventure, Capt Buckton has selected Cmdr Ed Gilbert to be his new Xo and Cto (Chief Tactical Officer). Both jobs are very demanding, but Jt is sure his friend is up to the task. Ed, a type "A" person and one who is trained to serve in both positions, "jumps in" with both feet and even with a major illness in his family he meets the challenge head on. Under their emperor's orders, powerful Akydaa and Wahaban military forces must travel deeper and deeper into space to procure food necessary for their empire's survival. These forces have seen reports of the riches in the alliance. These reports indicate this new food source will sustain their growing population for many decades, so they come in force. The alliance finds out the hard way the Akydaa and Wahaban are in their space and are forced to confront them. To make things really interesting, Fleet Admiral Jensen, who is on an extended vacation with his wife, has been captured by the Akydaa and no one in the alliance knows. Vol. 9 -Retaliation Consequences In Retaliation Consequences Capt JT Buckton, his crew and ship are once again put to the test. This time Capt Buckton is assigned the position of Deputy Commander of a task force being sent to the alliance planets Logel and Styros. Those two planets have come under attack by unknown forces and at first this seems like any other invasion of alliance space but things are vastly different. At headquarters and by many in the fleet, JT is recognized as the best tactical expert in the alliance. So being assigned as deputy commander makes sense since the task force commander has zero battle experience and almost no classroom tactical training and even less scenario battlefield tactical training. However, the admiral disregards Capt Buckton's battle plan in favor of his own and as a result things begin to go awry. Tensions escalate, some very heated words are exchanged, including some on JT's own staf recommending he relieve the admiral of his command. Are they talkng mutiny? Vol. 10 -Interrogation and Litigation, The Nightmare Both Capt JT Buckton and Lt Yato Assagio are facing charges that stem from the Polnon invasion of Styros and Logel almost a year ago. Lt Assagio, is facing murder and mistreatment of prisoner-of-war charges that come about because the media got wind of possible improprieties during the battle. The Alliance New Network, an anti-Fleet Command media giant, perverted the facts of the story to show how Fleet Command was nothing more than out of control warmongers, evidenced by the lieutenant leading a security detail that boarded a Polnon warship and the crimes she committed. Capt. Buckton is facing far less serious charges. His charges are serious enough they could put an end to his glorious career or get him a simple reprimand. Either way, Rear Admiral Wanizami, the man who brought the charges, did it to show he was a better tactician than JT Buckton. The ending is one nobody on Pegasus, especially Capt Buckton's command staff sees coming. Surprise after surprise is the name of the game! Vol. 11 -New Horizons, New Challenges Fleet Command's newest flag rank officer, Commodore JT Buckton and his crew board Pegasus-DSC-01 for another exciting adventure. The ship and crew are to "pass through" the Perseton Empire and then enter and explore the ZQ (Zebulon Quadrant). Once in the ZQ they are to explore every sector and parsec to the fullest extent possible; they have 3 years to do so. This is to be the longest, deepest deep space mission the Alliance of Planets has ever attempted. Things don't always go right, because a few weeks after departure the ship receives a message indicating FltAdm Jensen has been told to retire. The message upsets JT and Ed because they don't know why he's been told to retire now? On top of that they will miss the admiral's retirement banquet. JT messages the admiral wanting to know if he's being forced out? Pegasus' scientists discover a "dark planet" something that's only been a theory since Earth's 20th century. Things aren't as they first appear and then catastrophe! Vol. 12 -A New Tomorrow From deceitful interactions by the Panavian and Nefaron Empires toward the Alliance of Planets ambassadors of good will (Pegasus' command staff), to a completely unexpected notification from Fleet Command of upcoming major and unexpected staff personnel changes, RAdm Buckton and his XO, Executive Officer Ed Gilbert, have their hands full. There is one unexpected event after another in this novel and with the crew becoming bored from being back in alliance space for such a long time with basically nothing to do, a couple of lieutenants approach the CO and XO with a plan to alleviate the boredom. Once JT and Ed approve the plan, it turns into the event none of the event planners or the ship's hierarchy could have anticipated. Whether it is a boon or fiasco, the plan is carried out to the end, and everything about this event is new to the ship's crew. Vol. 13 -A Intransigence In this novel RAdm JT Buckton leads an expedition of 3 Alliance DSCs and 1 Diplomatic Ship (DTS-4) deep into the Perseton Empire, to meet with their always dangerous archenemy. When contact with the Persetons is made the admiral and Mr Harry Wonted of the Alliance Diplomatic Corps, are to sit and negotiate a peace treaty. If the task of getting a treaty signed is accomplished and there is a chance of moving even further, then JT is to make every effort to get this long-time enemy to unite with the Alliance of Planets. During this mission RAdm Buckton receives a message advising him to promote Ed Gilbert to Captain and Yllisium "Ears" Organta to Exec (XO) and to turn over command of Pegasus to those two officers. JT is ordered to return to Earth upon completion of this mission; he'll be assigned to the Fleet Admiral's staff and in charge of R&D. Unfortunately Kate is to remain on Pegasus as CMO while the ship heads back to the ZQ to complete the exploration started 3 years ago. Vol. 16 -Scoundrels vs. Deceivers This novel is a myriad of stories woven into one novel. The novel has a honeymoon, EXEC Yllisium Organta getting released from the hospital and assigned to new duties, RADM Buckton making further inroads with the Alliance of Planets newest member, the Perseton Empire and other key personnel diving into new tasks with enthusiasm. Several top Jestoid officers are concerned about numerous Alliance warships near their empire, but once they find out why there are there their fears are greatly allayed. During the Perseton-Fleet Command joint training exercise a couple of Perseton Battlespheres "accidentally" cross the Jestoid border. That simple border incident has the potential to cause a war between the Alliance of Planets and the Jestoids, but tempers are calmed and the Alliance warships"head Home" after the exercises are completed. Yllisium reports for duty at R&D after release from the hospital and is ready to begin his new job with fervor.
