Statuette of Beethoven, 6" Bust Sculpture, Signed A.Giannell, Italian Alabaster

Description: Beautifully Detailed & Signed Bust Artfully Depicting German Composer & Pianist Ludwig Van Beethoven by Renowned Sculptor & Artist Arnoldo Giannelli. Made in Italy. Circa: 1966 This Intricately Detailed Bust Captures the Essence of Ludwig Van Beethoven in his Prime. Ludwig Van Beethoven (December 1770-March 1827). Although Beethoven began to lose his Hearing at the age of 28 & by 44 Years of Age his Hearing Loss was Complete, Some of His Greatest Works Were Composed During this Time. "To play without passion is inexcusable! I would rather write 10,000 notes than a single letter of the alphabet. Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of woman. To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable". -Ludwig Van Beethoven The Statuette is made from Alabaster powder and is "completely handmade" (info I got from someone with a certificate of authenticity). The Sculpture is Signed on Back of Bust: "A. Giannelli". "BEETHOVAN" is engraved on front below the bust. This Sculpture is Mounted on a polished Pedestal Base made of marble or onyx. Bottom of the base has a sticker from (I believe) the previous owner: "R.W.DOWNER New York". I thought it might be a retailer, but seems like the business I found with that name sold acoustical tiles. Could Make an Excellent Paperweight as it actually weighs 1 pound. We had it sitting on our piano for a time, which seemed appropriate. Sculpture Measures: L: 2.5"W: 3.875"H: 6" Item is in Great Condition. No chips, cracks, breaks or damage that I could see.
