(A new Steinway B in macassar ebony goes for over $230,000.) For this masterpiece, we gave it a modern transparent polyester finish of the luxury European pianos currently made. In addition to this exotic macassar ebony exterior, this piano has new instrument parts and has been restored by our partners in Europe. This piano is for the connoisseur who would appreciate an extremely rare macassar Steinway & Sons 88-note 6'11" Model B grand piano from the Golden Age of Steinway piano-making. We were elated to be able to purchase and restore this legendary piano back to new. This piano was restored recently, and is very much like a new piano. Definitely one of the loveliest pianos we have ever seen. And it plays like a dream. From this restoration, this model B received a polished macassar ebony finish, a new soundboard, new bridges, new pinblock, new agraffes, all new action components, new ivoplast keytops, and all the hardware polished/replated. The tone is powerful and lively, the action is smooth, and the case is unbelievably beautiful. Please contact us for more details or to make an offer. How this piano may be different from other pianos you are considering Rare - Very few model Steinway B's have ever been restored to this level of detail and finish, and almost never become available for sale. Quality - Steinways are considered the gold standard of American-made luxury pianos because of their impressive scale designs and the tones that these designs generate. Price - New macassar ebony B's are sold with a new price of over $230K. This restoration is just like a new piano. Lower priced Steinway B restorations currently available for sale are typically only partially restored. Dealers typically economize in restorations of Steinway pianos (keeping the old soundboard, bridges, agraffes, repetitions, and/or damper action) to be able to keep the price low, but are sacrificing the quality, performance and longevity of the restored instrument. Craftsmen - We had this piano restored in Europe by European craftsmen who have been restoring European and Steinway pianos for decades. We have tried several piano restorers over the years, and these are among the best restorers in the world, in our opinion. First Owner - You would be the first owner of this fully restored piano. Buying a pre-owned, formerly restored piano is doubly risky as you don't know who restored what on the piano and when, and you also don't know how the current owner treated the piano since the restoration was completed. Instrument Restoration - This pianos is fully restored. (95% of restored pianos for sale are only partially restored.) Pianos are not fully restored, in our opinion, unless they have undergone a full acoustic restoration, including a new soundboard, new bridges, new pinblock, new strings, and new agraffes (usually overlooked) and a full action restoration, including new hammers, new shanks, new flanges, new repetitions, and new damper action (overlooked as well). The reason these components need replacement is that they are made primarily of thin pieces/layers of wood, including the soundboard, or metal, like the agraffes, that lose their physical/chemical properties over a century, and wear down/warp over time. Replacement is the best option for these thin wood and metal parts that are vital to the performance and longevity of the restored instrument. When you buy a Steinway piano Steinway pianos have been synonymous with quality, beauty and luxury for over 150 years, a reputation well earned. Steinway pianos are considered the elite pianos, where, similar to Rolex watches, the main competition for a new Steinway piano is not a competitor, but rather a pre-owned Steinway piano. Each handcrafted Steinway piano has over 12,000 mechanical parts and, when assembled or restored by expert technicians, the Steinway piano is elegant and tonally gorgeous. Steinway piano designs are timeless, with many of their current model scale designs being over 100 years old. Even 100+ year old Steinway pianos play today, although these pianos had to withstand incredibly harsh and inconsistent indoor conditions for most of the 1900's. (Now with climate-controlled (temperature and humidity) homes, Steinway pianos made, or properly restored, after 1990 may conceivably last 200 years in current home environments.) Although Steinway prices are high compared to other pianos, Steinway pianos have enduring value over time, much more so than competitors’ pianos. When you buy a Steinway piano, you are buying a very special piano that will last you and your family a long, long time. Picarzo Pianos Testimonial "Hello piano buyers! My name is James English from northeastern Pennsylvania. I am 68 years old and decided at this time of my life to purchase the one and only piano of my dreams for more than 50 years: a Steinway model "B" grand. More than 10 months ago, I began searching eagerly, locally and statewide, for the one I exactly wanted." "In the middle of my search, I came across Picarzo Pianos and my undivided attention froze on the 1962 Steinway B that Mike was selling nationally. I continued searching, only to constantly return back to Mike's '62 B. That's when I decided to contact Mike to begin making an offer, and eventually come to a most satisfying sales agreement that could not be beaten without a doubt. Mike and I not only became customer/salesman, but within a very short time became very good friends over the entire time it took from start to finish to conclude our transaction." "Mike is the most patient salesperson on this planet. I had, and traded up from, a K. Kawai KG-6E, which I purchased new in 1987, to the Steinway B that Mike had for sale. My finances to purchase the Steinway were not available at first for at least 3 and 1/2 months, in which Mike, who had the faith and integrity to promise me he would hold the piano until my finances became possible, did just that!" "In all my years of dealing with salesmen, I can very honestly say that Mike was the best I have ever dealt with. I must say to all piano buyers, first shop with Picarzo Pianos before anywhere else. Take it from me, you won't be disappointed by any means. Mike extends his patience and kindness above and beyond the norm. The bottom line is clear, as my testimony proclaims: I will never shop anywhere else, if the opportunity permits to purchase again from Mike Pratt." "I highly recommend his showroom and service to all music lovers wherever you live. Thank you for reading about my recent experience with Picarzo Pianos." - Mr. J.E. in West Wyoming, PA 1962 Steinway B Grand ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Copyright 2008-2024 Picarzo, LLC All Rights Reserved
