Description: Stereo Realist Camera David White Co Excellent Condition but UNTESTED From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia; The Stereo Realist is a stereo camera that was manufactured by the David White Company from 1947 to 1971. It was the most popular 35 mm stereo camera ever manufactured and started the era of popular stereo photography in the mid 20th century. It was design by Seton Rochwite. Read more about it on camera-wiki. From Me; The example we have here is in excellent condition and everything seems to work, but no guarantees about that. Sold untested. The dials are a little stiff but can be moved fairly easily. The shutter works, no idea about the accuracy of the speeds, they sound good. I have lots of experience in shutter sounds ;-) Most interesting thing to me about the camera is that the film plane is what is used to focus the camera. The dial on the right side moves the film plane. The Lenses are fixed. Interesting. Two viewfinders, the one on the left uses the lens in the middle to compose the photo, and the one on the right uses the two small windows on the front of the camera, via a split image rangefinder, to focus the camera. The rangefinder works. There are some good discussions of the camera on the internet. I suggest you start with camera-wiki. Of course I expect most people looking at this camera are familiar with it. The Realist uses standard 135 film. Thanks for looking. unless you live a long long way from Montana (Florida, Maine) I suggest Priority Mail. I also offer Advantage, to which I see little Advantage, but some savings at long distances.
