Hallmarked to lid: "Sterling" for .925/1000 silver purity; "knight head" over letter "S" into a "shield" a trademark for Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. (1895-1898) Company absorbed into International Silver in 1898 and International continued to use this mark in 1900's. "Sterling" for .925/1000 silver purity; numerals "8" and "22" probably for pattern or manufacturer's code. Made sometime in 1895 - early 1900's. Approx.: Height: 3-9/16in. (90mm.)
