Description: Here we have another….. Stunning Bronze & Marble Art Deco Timepiece by Smiths of England. (c.1930-40’s) This has just had a visit to the M&K workshop and now works as good as it looks. The base is solid bronze and supports a gorgeous fan shaped piece of marble with a grain from left to right. The marble does have a couple of hairline cracks but is hardly noticeable and is chip free. The gilt clock face has an Arabic numeral chapter ring with matching Art Deco styled hands, this also has four bronze balls to the front which helps secure the marble to the Bakelite backing. The Smiths 8 day mechanism with platform escapement, has been serviced, lightly oiled and runs smoothly keeping good time. Overall it measures 12”W x 3”D x 8”H and has an extremely quiet tick!
