Description: A rare, original photo postcard of Inez Millholland leading the ground-breaking March 3, 1913 Woman Suffrage March through Washington, D.C., at the request of leader Alice Paul. She was dramatically dressed in white to represent the New Woman of the twentieth century. Millholland collapsed while making a suffrage speech in Los Angeles and died. Many see her as a martyr for women's rights. The creator of Wonder Woman, William Marston, was inspired by Millholland. He used photos of her leading this parade as inspiration for the comic, “The Milk Racket of Paula Von Gunther." About 3.5" x 4.5". Very good condition as shown with minor tanning. Displays extremely well. A rare photo postcard of a very influential suffragette. I ship every day the post office is open with your item safely packed for protection and I always combine shipping. Please see the Civil Rights and Women's Rights sections and the rest of my store for more museum quality artifacts.
