The janka hardness is 3180 and makes it a great wood for grips, scales, musical instruments, turning, ETC.. This board has some cracks to work with and is priced at a discountHeartwood ranges from a medium brown to nearly black. Commonly with black veining and contrasting brown or reddish streaks.
