Description: The first picture is from our stunning mother plant! My dad started our beautiful cactus from a small piece, just like the ones we have for you! It took about 20 years to get to the size in the picture and would have been much larger if we didn't have to trim it! We have another tree that reached 15 feet in about 15 years. In ideal growing conditions it would have been taller. We love our cacti and enjoy the flowers and fruit from them. We hope you enjoy them too! *A little info on this beauty- Native to South America, this gorgeous cactus grows into a large tree over time. It goes by many names, most commonly called the Peruvian apple cactus, queen of the night, night blooming Cereus, hedge cactus, column cactus, or Cereus Peruvianus. They can start with as few as 4 ribs and have as many as 9. They produce beautiful white/cream flowers which open for one night and can be seen all night through early morning before it gets too bright outside. The flowers then form into pretty pink/red, thorn-less edible fruit with a white inner flesh with black crunchy seeds, similar to prickly pear or dragon fruit/pitaya. They continue to bloom all through spring and fall in our Florida climate. *Care- They are very tolerant once established and established growth can tolerate temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6 degrees Celsius). It grows fairly quickly for its size. You can expect up to 3 foot of growth per year from an established cactus. Grow indoors or out, they do not need full sun but need a good amount of direct sunlight to prevent any diseases/fungus. Just like most cacti, let the soil dry between watering and don't let them sit in water for long periods of time to avoid rot. *Newly potted Cacti should avoid direct, mid day sun until established. *What you will receive- You will be receiving a non-rooted, fresh cutting from one of our mature trees. Your piece will be inspected, cut with a sterile blade, the wound coated with cinnamon and wrapped in paper for insulation while shipping. *Cinnamon doubles as a disease preventative and rooting hormone. ***Please consider the weather in your area before buying. I am not responsible for frozen cacti. New growth cannot withstand the same temperatures as a mature piece and can be susceptible to freezing temperatures.*** We do not accept returns due to these being live plants. Any damaged packages are reimbursed by the shipping insurance. Please contact me if you receive a damaged plant. Please take pictures if you have any issues!
